About Us

The Simpson Bowls Club was established in the 1970’s and became an incorporated association on 3^rd June 1985.  The original clubhouse was a former administration building used during the establishment of the Heytesbury Settlement.  The Club now has a new clubhouse that became operational on 17 September 2022.  We have a relatively new synthetic green that accommodates 8 rinks.

The Club has a very friendly atmosphere and encourages all members of the community to have a go at the game of bowls. It caters for both serious and social bowlers.  It has two pennant teams that play on Saturdays and one midweek team that plays on Tuesdays.  During the bowling season we run a triples event on the first Wednesday of every month. The green is open 7 days a week and members of other bowling clubs or visiting tourists are welcome to have a roll.

A highlight of the summer is our barefoot bowls that is run over 6 weeks in January and February.  For $8 you get a bowl and a massive BBQ tea.  It is very popular, and we always get 16 teams participating.  Rubber bowls and other equipment is available to keep all the kids amused.

Visitors are always welcome and the Club will hire out the facility free of charge.  We train on Thursdays and usually have a casual tea, whether it be a BBQ, steamed dim sims or party pies.

We have a commercial kitchen and are a licensed premises with the bar open from midday on most weekends and on Thursdays from 4pm onwards.  We are looking to host more events and extend our opening hours to make use of our fantastic new clubhouse.
